Terrazzo Floors
WHAT IS TERRAZZO?
Terrazzo is a composite material, poured in place or precast, which is used for floor and wall treatments. It consists of chips of marble, quartz, granite, glass, or other suitable material, poured with a cementitious binder (for chemical binding), polymeric (for physical binding), or a combination of both. Metal strips often divide sections, or changes in color or material in a pattern. Additional chips may be sprinkled atop the mix before it sets. After it is cured it is ground and polished smooth or otherwise finished to produce a uniformly textured surface
OUR PROCESS
GRINDING & HONING
Once the terrazzo has been placed or existing flooring has been removed and the terrazzo floor has been revealed, we grind and hone the existing terrazzo to flatten and smooth the terrazzo which reveals the existing beauty of the marble chips which are impregnated in the epoxy or cementitous matrix.
TERRAZZO REPAIR
More often than not, beautiful terrazzo floors have been covered by other types of flooring including carpet, tile, and wood. Dont worry, we use a special blending technique of unique cements and marble chips which will match your existing floor.
TERRAZZO POLISHING
Our Terrazzo polishing process is very similar to our concrete polishing process, however, with terrazzo, there is usually less patch work and grouting necessary. Terrazzo can bring a beautiful mirror like shine.
